Classification of high-speed handpiece: According to different classification methods, high-speed handpiece can be divided into the following categories:

1) According to the connection method with the connecting pipe, it can be divided into those with quick connectors and those without quick connectors.

2) According to the type of connection with the connecting pipe, it can be divided into two holes (driving gas, water); four-hole (atomizing gas, return air) and six-hole fiber optic (driving air, water atomizing gas, return air and two electrode columns) handpieces.

3) According to the exhaust method of the handpieces, it can be divided into internal exhaust (four holes and six holes) and external exhaust (two holes) handpieces.

4) According to the diameter of the handpieces head, it can be divided into large (head diameter φ12.2); medium (head diameter φ11.2); small (head diameter φ10.2). Because the size of the head is different, the strength of the handpieces is also different, and the purpose is also slightly different.

5) According to the loading and unloading method of the dental handpieces bur, it can be divided into two types: push button type and key type.
